Potternewton has been experiencing some problems with vehicles entering the park and causing anti-social behaviour.

This scheme is aimed at preventing this from happening in future and increasing safety at the park.

Councillor Matthew Lobley (Con, Chair of the Area Committee) told Chapel Allerton Today: "Potternewton Park is a very important and valued piece of greenspace in Chapeltown and it is unfortunate that a minority of people use it in an anti-social manner. I am therefore very pleased that, in an effort to deter such behaviour at the park, we have been able to help fund this project.

"Through financing the installation of one of these gates we are able to contribute towards making this park a safer place for the people of Chapeltown to enjoy."
