Hundreds more suspect items were found by officers from West Yorkshire Trading Standards and West Yorkshire Police at his home address, Leeds Crown Court was told.

The haul of fakes included almost 13,000 pairs of Calvin Klein boxer shorts, more than 1,000 Stone Island jackets, 400 Chloe handbags, 650 French Connection tops, 300 Dolce & Gabanna caps and almost 200 pairs of Nike trainers.

Mir admitted 12 offences of possessing with a view to distributing counterfeit goods.

While he admitted taking delivery of the items and knowing that they were fake he maintained that he had not ordered them.

He said he had been working for a Mr Patel, whom he had met at a car boot sale, and did not know what was in the boxes. An address Mir gave for Mr Patel was later found to not exist.
